Nik Wallenda And The Grand Canyon

After reading the title of this post if anyone of you remember this name 'Nik Wallenda' then I would say that you are well informed. For the rest of you, just read the post ;). While most of you were busy watching some of your boring shitty daily soap or some sitcom or catching a movie, I was watching the Discovery channel. Now you all will be saying "yeah we know that you are a nerd and all nerds watch Discovery, it's the secret broadcasting network of all the nerds across the globe, so what's new about it." Well nothing much, just a guy walked across the Grand Canyon on a tight rope. If you just raced through the last line, I would repeat it for you. A GUY WALKED ACROSS THE GRAND CANYON ON A F'ING ROPE WITHOUT ANY SUPPORTING CABLE AND THERE WAS NO NET BELOW HIM TO SAVE HIM FROM THE FALL. Yeah now I got your attention, you all just love it when I curse, don't you ;) :).

Now some facts about the guy Nik Wallenda. He is a professional tight rope artist. So don't go on walking on a tight rope just coz I told you about him ;). I'll not be responsible for the consequences coz it's dangerous!! His family is doing the same thing for generations. They started this in the 1700s, so they are much more experienced then you & I ever will be. He has 7 world records to his credit. One of the coolest things he did, apart from walking across the canyon, is he has walked across THE NIAGRA FALLS on a tight rope. But as a legal constraint he had to wear a safety harness. According to me, this guy is a mixture of Superman and Spiderman. As he battles the wind, all the distractions, and still manages to stick to the rope no matter what ;) :).

Now as much as I would love to tell you more about his career and personal life, I won't bother you with the things which you can easily Google or can read on Wikipedia or Yahoo. But what you won't find anywhere else on the Internet is my piece of mind ;) :). The reason being that I observe things and try to to see beyond the ordinary. And having said that, no I am not superman :P ;) :). Although I would love to be ;), bye-bye airplanes and mind it, I would be the first ever Indian Superman ;) :). Anyways, what I observed was that, Nik was chanting GOD's name at every step he took on that tight-rope which was suspended 1500 feet above the ground. He was asking for salvation from the almighty at every step. In return, GOD tested his faith by sending a strong breeze towards him. Now you would say, "This is ridiculous, why would GOD do such a thing." Lets not go into why GOD did this, we'll get to that later. The real question here is, how Nik handled this windy welcome by GOD. He did not welcome the breeze with open arms, rather he sat down on that rope and still chanted GOD's name. That's all GOD needed to check, whether he was bluffing or not and he wasn't. Nik was doing his karma and while doing that he never let go of GOD. Resultant, the breeze slowed down and he continued his journey. What I meant to say is that, when we call out GOD to help us, don't think that GOD would just come running away for you, he has lots of other important work to do. Rather the almighty throws us into harder tides, just to call our bluff. It's up to us whether we want to wait for GOD to come to our help and let us drown ourselves or to fight the tide and be welcomed into his embrace.

When Nik again started walking, the second thing which I observed was that he thanked GOD, continued his journey and also his chants. Again after sometime, the staff, that he was using to balance himself, got heavier and his feet began to hurt, he again sat down and asked GOD for salvation. Again GOD rewarded his faith by replenishing his energy due to which he was able to finish his act successfully. Now you would say, "If GOD believed in his faith earlier then why his faith was challenged again?" This time it wasn't his faith that GOD challenged, GOD tested his humility. GOD wanted to see whether he had grown arrogant because of the opportunity that he was bestowed upon or was he grateful for the gift that he had received.

Now, here I would like to point out a few things that, according to me, you should keep in mind. If your karma is bad then don't expect GOD to come to your rescue any time sooner. You'll have to wait longer then everybody else. But don't loose your faith, just hang in there, repent for your bad karma. Also if you think that your life is a constant struggle then it's quite possible that GOD has called your bluff ;) :). Or you are missing out on something which is holding you back. Just back off a little, try to join the missing puzzles of your problem, repent for your (known/unknown) sins, and ask for salvation. If you aren't bluffing this time then I am sure GOD will help you out.

If anyone of you think that today you are in a shitload of trouble then please be patient, don't loose your hope and faith in GOD, he's just testing you. Also if you are those lucky ones who are in phase 2 of your testing, then never forget your past, where you have came from, who you were. Also don't just sit at the sidelines all your life, get down, do what you always wanted to do. Don't be afraid of failure, just concentrate on your target and let GOD take care of the rest. Remember there isn't anyone in this whole world who hasn't faced any challenges, failures or retaliation (when I say retaliation, I don't mean retaliation against an anarchy, everybody has the right to be free). Everybody falls, but a real person is the one that gets up, dusts off his clothes and keeps on walking. Take care and keep smiling ;) :)..

Animals Are More Humane Then Humans..

You all must be thinking, "Now he has lost it completely, in his previous post he was talking about smiles and being human and now he will give his piece of mind on animals". Well yeah, you probably need it ;).

Yesterday I read this news which was both shocking and nothing short than a miracle, not like those fake magic shows that you watch on TV. Moreover it intrigued me on many levels that's why you are being bothered by this post :P.

In Ethiopia, Africa, 7 men kidnapped a girl, she was not to be found anywhere for about a week. She was kidnapped, not because for extortion but the intent of those sadistic bastards was to rape her and then forcefully make her marry one of them. I am sorry but I can't control my anger, moreover I don't know what else to call them. Suggestions are welcome, post it in your comments. I promise I won't moderate your valuable inputs ;) :). Wanna know what happened next, how some animals got involved, then read on ;).

No, those monsters were not eaten by any animal. Although I like your thinking ;) and I too wish the same for them, but we don't want these "GOD-sent" animals to have an upset stomach by eating garbage :P :D ;). They took her in the nearby jungle where they were beating her up very badly so that she submits herself into marrying one of them. She was crying out for help & out came 3 LIONS from the bushes. Oh yeah, the king of the jungle comes to your rescue if you are in danger, that's what a true king should be like, unlike our government ;). Those lions not only made those losers run away but they even protected her for half a day. Also when the police found her, the lions, who were there to protect her, just backed off and went into the jungle without any retaliation as if they were just waiting for the right people to handover her charge to.

Now, there are two things that I learned from this incident. First, that humans are not only harmful to the nature and other species, they are harmful to other human beings as well (although I knew that earlier as well). Also I am not saying it for our whole race though, there are good people as well who are constantly trying to make our world a better place. Second, that if we believe in GOD and call him in our hour of need, he will come to our help. Although his way of helping is very surprising and even questionable at times but we should never let go of our hope and believe in him. Also I want to thank GOD for giving that girl the courage to go through that horrific event and sending his finest warriors to her rescue.

By the way, that's how 70% of marriages happen there. So the next time you go on an African safari just make sure you have a lion by your side :P :D ;) :)..

No Pun Intended ;)

Those who know me personally must be thinking, "Yeah it's about time that this prick came to this topic ;) :P. Those of you who don't know me, to summarise I would say that, I am a percher of laughter (the way to achieve that doesn't matter ;)).

Well what motivated me to write this post is that, that everyday I see or come across people who are either pessimistic or a victim of time & situation (aren't we all). On second thought, why in hell do I attract these kinda people, probably coz I like to make people smile so GOD must be like, here son do what makes you happy and have a bunch of pessimistics. Now I know it's not possible to be positive all the time but you also can't stay perpetually negative either.

Now this post is not about cracking double meaning, sexually abusive, and racists jokes. Although do share some of them with me ;). No, it's about being happy and making other people around you happy.

If I ask you what is happiness, then you would probably say "if I get that promotion, I would be happy", "if I get that long pending raise, I would be happy", "if I get married to that special someone, I would be happy", or "if I get selected for that job or college, I would be happy". But this is not the generic definition of being happy, these are just your wishes and wishes are endless. I guess that you've figured it by now, if not, well then I would suggest you to grow up, observe and analyse your life and the world around you. Wishes are like water and our age is like a vessel. As we grow up, the shape of our vessel changes and so does our wishes.

As someone rightly said, happiness is a state of mind, it's a choice, it's derived from within. Now if you observe closely, the lines which I just wrote, you would find that none them says or even hints towards fulfilment of your wishes. They point towards your inner self, your soul. Oh yeah, now I am getting all spiritual :P :). Jokes apart, if you think that certain achievement is going to give you happiness then you are highly mistaken my friend. You know as they say that there is nothing like conditional love, similar to that there's no conditional happiness. Think about it, if you bind your happiness with some tangible or materialistic entity then logically your happiness would end at the moment you acquire/achieve that entity. Now why would you want to end something which is of paramount importance in all of your life by attaching it with something which is ever changing? Binding sounds stupid, right. Now you would ask, then how in hell we gonna be happy or are we ever gonna be happy? The answer to that is very simple, you see, beauty lies in simplicity ;) :). Don't invest in things, invest in experiences. For it is only these experiences that will give you true happiness. Smile with what you have right now. Be satisfied with yourself. Now I am not saying to shove up all your dreams and become a saint, no. Don't stop dreaming (I already told you that in my previous post). Give it your best to make that dream a reality but, even if you don't get it then please don't be sad. Rather be satisfied that you dared to dream something and even tried achieving it. Many of us don't even have the guts to go after our dreams coz we are afraid of failure. So be happy that you were fearless enough to follow your dreams. Now I am sure that in the pursuit of your dreams you must've got some learning which would, who knows, help you out in your future in some way. So please don't be sad coz your dream was shattered. Be happy, be a believer, be hopeful and don't loose your smile even if you are surrounded by 1000s of foes or worries. Nothing is for forever, nothing stays the same so why are you worrying yourself to death. Live your life, be happy, do things which makes you happy & always keep smiling ;) :)..

Let It Go

Have you ever travelled in Delhi Metro at peak hours? If yes, then you must have experienced this, when a hoard of people, despite the compartment being brimming with passengers, barge in and shove you further in. Well that's what I experienced today and while many pathetically bad breathed people were breathing down my neck, I had an epiphany of thoughts, go figure how my mind twisted me into thinking this at such a place :P..
Anyways, you would be able to relate to my citations better if you travel in Delhi Metro at peak hours. But as they say, beware of pick-pocketers ;)..
As the hoard enters the compartment, what your mind tells you to do is, "wrestle your way" throughout the journey. But believe me, you can't wrestle all of them. After some time of struggle you tend to get tired and eventually you give up. It is from that second you start enjoying all the pushes and shoves (no pun intended :P ;) :) ) coz then those very people start making funny/angry faces and eventually they stop pushing you around.
Life is very similar to this, journey in a compartment. When bad times/people comes in barging into your life and you feel trapped and suffocated. We tend to fight these situations and people thinking that someday we'll come out victorious (yeah I am talking about all you, you hopelessly optimistic bunch of people, btw I too am in this group ;) ) but we can't fight all our lives, can we? The best thing to do is let go of such people, ignore these pushes and let it not affect you, your work, your life, and most importantly your dreams. You can't possibly control everything in your life, it's not humanly possible to achieve that. So, let it go, as it is only then you can achieve tranquility and harmony within yourself. Try doing this and you'll be happier and more satisfied with yourself and your life.

Be Unique, Like A MacID

Ok to start with, those of you who are not technically inclined, I want to tell you that a MacId isn't a new delicacy that McDonald's will serve :P :D ;) :) lol. Rather it's an ID which every computer on this planet has and it's totally unique. It can't be replicated to any other machine. It's not like, if you'll format your computer and it'll vanish, no, it'll be there no matter what you do. As a matter of fact, our smartphones too have MacIDs of it's own, sounds cool na ;). Those who are technically inclined, you already this, don't cha ;) :).

Now you all must be wondering why am I telling you all this technical stuff, when I've a separate blog for it "Technomics" (I promise I'll start writing posts for that blog as well, very soon ;) ), you are here to read about my piece of mind ;) :).

The reason of this post is that in today's world many of us must have met/knew people who are insanely successful and rich. But have you ever wondered, why is it that they are like that?, parental inheritance, maybe, but not all the parents were rich. The reason is simple, they kept their MacIDs intact. They didn't tried copying anyone or follow anyone blindly. Rather they chose to be unique in this monotonous world, where they were surrounded by "copy-paste" people. Oh yeah, these "copy-paste" people are everywhere no matter where you are and what you do. They are those people who try follow other people, maybe coz they are successful or they think that they are cool or maybe for some other twisted reason of their own, I don't know. It is these "copy-paste" people who, when are encountered by some unique person, declare them insane or even social outcasts. My advice to you, keep telling yourself "I am unique and I'll find/make my own destiny". It'll be supremely difficult for you to be unique but trust me, it'll be worth all of your hard work and sufferings. Some of the people I know (not personally, I wish I had ;) ) who have/had unique MacIDs are - Steve Jobs, Oprah Winfrey, Nelson Mendela, Dhiru Bhai Ambani, Mark Zuckerburg, Ratan Tata, Marshal Mathers (stage name Eminem), and ME :D ;) :).

What I am trying to say in simple language means, be your own self, follow your dreams, protect'em, stick to them, never be afraid of hard work, and never stop innovating yourself. Don't bother about the "copy-paste" people, rather be empathetic towards them, remember, they were once unique too ;).

Please leave your comments and tell me what all things makes you unique ;) :)..

Changing Cultural Times

It has been a long time since I've last written anything but I've my job to blame, can't find the time to do anything else. That's a story for some other time but I am writing this to share something which is bothering me after watching "Ye Jawani Hai Deewani".

Last week I went with a very close school friend of mine to watch that movie at Kaushambhi, Ghaziabad, UP. The mall had ample space but the multiplex was small and reminded me of old auditoriums that utilises the small space by placing a lot of seats at very daring heights. To top that the stairs leading to the seats were higher than any other multiplex that I've ever been. I don't know how our elders would cope with them. And the seats were a pain in the back and ass. I was really hoping that the movie was worth all of this.

It started all good, till the time Ranbir Kapoor said this line "Paisa to haath ka maail hota hai (money is for spending)". Dude you are a rich brat but that doesn't mean that you should promote this generation to not to save money for hard tides and spend it all on holidaying. If we follow suit the above said mantra then our dear friend "recession" can always happily come back to haunt us all (GOD forbid that). Then the second most annoying thing that was portrayed by his character was that he neglected his family completely, to the point that he wasn't even there when his father was being cremated coz he was busy taking a tour in the mountains. And he didn't even bothered coming home after he came to know about his father, simply great. I am not against following your dreams, careers and keeping yourselves happy but not at the cost of your family. As no matter what we achieve or how big we become, family was there & it'll stay with us no matter who we are.

I don't know what is the problem with Bollywood that even after 100 years of making movies, it can't take it's head out of its ass and see that there are other many stories that are worth sharing & inspiring people rather than just 2-people-madly-in-love-with-each-other-&-going-rogue-against-their-family-or-society kinda movies. And if Bollywood is so keen on serving the same century old dish to us, the least it can do is to inspire us all to be better human beings by showing small act of random kindness towards each other.

Other than the above said points, the music, choreography, direction, acting, & locations of the movie are great. Rest the movie is nothing more than a one time watch, time pass movie. I would give it a 2.5/5 rating. 1/2 star extra just for the amazing locations where the movie was shot at.

Do share your views in the comments section. And I promise that from now on I'll be more regular with my posts.
